62. Biographical toiletries

Unpublished
11 November 1997

Reading today’s John Bentley Mays column (Nov 19th) promising in future to only travel across the Atlantic by liner gave rise to this thought. Is there any hint of a possibility that Willam (I-helped-make-Expo 67) Thorsell, Blake (I-was-abducted-by-punk-aliens ) Gopnick, and John (I-star-in-my-own-soap-opera) Mays might be dissuaded from generously gifting their biographical toiletry ? Such a space-saving sacrifice should allow those of us who can only access the flimsy national edition to receive the full-monty megacity version. To assist this improvement in service I would, albeit with somewhat easily, be willing to forego receipt of the Report on Business magazine and that occasional Design insert that resembles an Ikea catalogue on a tight budget.
